Funny....But so true!!
Being a parent changes everything. But being a parent also changes with each baby. Here are some of the ways having a second and third child is different from having your first.
Your Clothes
1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
Preparing for the Birth
1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother practicing because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your 8th month.
The Layette
1st baby: You pre-wash your newborn's clothes, color coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check! to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
Worries
1st baby: At the first sign of distress - a whimper, a frown-you pick up the baby.
2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.
3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.
Pacifier
1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.
Diapering
1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their diaper every 2 to 3 hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.
Activities
1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, BabySwing, and Baby Story Hour.
2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.
3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.
Going Out
1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home 5 times.
2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.
At Home
1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn't squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.
Swallowing Coins
1st child: when first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays. 2nd child: when 2nd child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for coin to pass.
3rd child: when 3rd child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance!!

Family Day
Our church had Family Day last week-end. The Blaire family was there to sing and to speak. The service was absolutely amazing. The Blaires are definitely a talented family. After the service we had tons of food, horse rides, rock climbing wall, face painting, 4-wheeler rides, go-cart rides, a giant slide, and a obstacle course. Also the neighbor volunteered to come and make elephant ears, deep fried snickers, and all kinds of fair food. It was SO good!!!! There was also cotton candy and snow cones. Mikaila had a blast, and even Mason had some fun as long as I was holding his hand!!!! Mikhi slept through half of it, but that made it SO much easier for me!!! I of course wore high heeled shoes, not even thinking that the whole thing was in a field, and by the end of the day, I was seriously wanting to cry!!! Other than that though, we all had a blast.

Mikhi was def. ready for a nap!!

Mikaila on the climbing wall......and yes....you can climb in a dress!!!! I'm sure the guy in charge was really wondering!!!!

Mikaila's first day of school.
Ok...I know these are really late, but as I mentioned below, I lost my camera the first day of school so I had to re-due the pictures!!!! Here is Mikaila the "first day of school". She loves school this year, and is doing really well so far. Her favorite thing though is riding her bike to school!!! She expects me to do this every morning and every afternoon!!!! Its getting so cold in the morning that I've been trying to beg out of it, but she still ends up talking me into it quite often!!!

Mikhi...
Mikhi absolutely loves to help with everything!!! Most of the time he is way more of a hindrance than a help, but I think its still cute to see him try!!! Here is a couple of pictures of him helping Andy mow our front yard. Since his legs are so small it took forever, but luckily after a few rows he got tired of helping and Andy could finish by his self!!!
Mason's first day of school:
Mason started school today. He hasn't wanted to go, but we thought it would be good for him so we signed him up for headstart. The morning started out good enough, but the closer it came to him leaving, the more upset he got. Finally he had just had enough, and announced to everyone he was NOT going to school, and was just going back to bed!!! We had to basically drag him out of bed and carry him to the van. By that time I was in tears and really re-thinking the whole pre-school thing, so I made Andy take him because I new I'd give in and let him stay home!!! Andy said that by the time they got to school Mase had calmed down and acted fine. I still worried about him all day while he was at school and found myself in tears quite a few times!!! When the school bus pulled up out front with him, I totally expecting a sad, crying boy. But instead he had a huge grin on his face and announced that he loved school!!! He said that the only time he cried was when they told him it was time to go home!!! I'm so in shock!!! I didn't think it would be so easy!!! Maybe this school year won't be so bad after all!!!
